dc.description.abstractEste resumo apresenta como tema a memória das vítimas da escravidão e do tráfico transatlântico de escravizados. Segundo a Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU, [s. d.]), durante mais de 400 anos, mais de 15 milhões de homens, mulheres e crianças foram vítimas do terrível comércio transatlântico de escravizados. Muitos africanos e afrodescendentes, durante o período da Diáspora africana, escreveram suas histórias ou tiveram-nas registradas por outros sujeitos e/ou instituições. Em Assembleia Geral, a ONU adotou a Resolução 62/122 de 17 de dezembro de 2007, declarando o dia 25 de março como o Dia Internacional em Memória das Vítimas da Escravidão e do Comércio Transatlântico de Escravos. Desde então, esta resolução promove a oportunidade de honrar e relembrar aqueles que sofreram e morreram no sistema da escravidão, estimula a mobilização das instituições educacionais, da sociedade civil e de outras organizações a discutirem sobre as causas e as consequências do comércio transaltântico, e favorece a compreensão social sobre as práticas e as violências desenvolvidas pelo racismo antinegro (ONU, [s. d.]).pt_BR

dc.description.abstractxThis abstract presents as its theme the memory of the victims of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade. According to the United Nations (UN, [n. d.]), for more than 400 years, over 15 million men, women, and children were victims of the terrible transatlantic slave trade. Many Africans and Afro-descendants during the African Diaspora wrote their stories or had them recorded by other individuals and/or institutions. In a General Assembly, the UN adopted Resolution 62/122 of December 17, 2007, declaring March 25 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Since then, this resolution promotes the opportunity to honor and remember those who suffered and died in the system of slavery, encourages the mobilization of educational institutions, civil society, and other organizations to discuss the causes and consequences of the transatlantic slave trade, and supports social understanding of the practices and violence produced by anti-Black racism (UN, [n.d.]).pt_BR
